This panel focuses on the new narrative and thematic possibilities offered by the diasporic novel which falls under the umbrella category “of the novel in English.” It has the objective of highlighting the culturally inclusive tendency of diasporic narratives as counter-discourses to canonical texts.  It also participates in the critical debate on the different strategies and issues through which the novel  form is evolving.
