Paper Nations: Building a Creative Nation for Young Writers
Kate Haines, Bath Spa University – Paper Nations: Building a Creative Nation for Young Writers
Seraphima Kennedy, NAWE – The Young Creative Writer Award
Funded by Arts Council England’s strategic fund for Creative Writing in Schools, Paper Nations is a new creative writing hub for young people. Led by Bath Spa University and working in partnership with NAWE and Bath Festivals, this ambitious project brings together arts organisations, creative writers and education with a common purpose: to inspire a creative nation of young writers.
Paper Nations is working to develop a new national scheme for creative writing tutors to run in schools and communities with pathways to accreditation for children and young people. This session will be a chance to get involved in the development of this new national framework and share ideas on best practice to support and implement this across the UK.
Kate Haines is Deputy Director & Literary Programme Manager of Paper Nations and a Research Associate at TRACE, Bath Spa University.
Seraphima Kennedy is a writer, researcher and Programme Director at NAWE.
